In short
Simosa CMS is the control room behind a consumer app used by millions of people.
The problem
Every change to what the app showed, from reordering sections to swapping an image, meant shipping an app update and waiting for app-store approval.
What I did
I built the control panel from scratch. The team rearranges screens with a live preview, publishes changes instantly, groups customers and sends them targeted notifications. Images are stored securely on the company's own servers.
The result
- Changes reach millions of users in real time
- No app update needed to change what the app shows
- Targeted notifications sent straight from the dashboard
Technical detailsFor engineers: how it's built and what it runs on
Approach
Built the CMS frontend and backend: a dashboard for reordering, updating, and removing app sections and images in real time, customer segmentation controls, and push notification sending. Integrated Minio as an on-premise S3 substitute for private media hosting.
Architecture
- Next.js dashboard connected to NestJS backend services
- Prisma ORM mapping live layout relationships in MySQL 8
- Local on-premise Minio storage cluster for private media hosting
- Push notification service for segmented, targeted delivery
Highlights
- Versioned content management and publishing directly to mobile devices
- Real-time data updates and hot-reloading triggered by push notifications
- Live preview capabilities with real-time UI reordering for the mobile app
- Automated version update notifications for mobile clients
- Local on-premise deployment with strict, auth-based module access
